Okeechobee County strives to obtain the best value for the County's dollar while ensuring that all procurement activities are conducted in a legal, ethical, and professional manner.   The County's Purchasing policy strives to provide cost savings to county citizens, and maintain an even playing field for all bidders. We have accomplished this goal by developing effective systems, methods and procedures for all County staff and vendors to follow, thereby ensuring maximum return to our citizens/residents.

Statement

The Purchasing division is responsible for small and large purchase procedures, written and verbal quotations, sealed bids and proposals, annual vendor contracts, and professional service solicitation and review in accordance with Okeechobee County Code and the County Purchasing Manual.

Goals and Objectives

• Enhance and progress towards the acceptance of electronic responses to our bidding processes.
• Continue to improve access and procedures for internal and external customers.
• Continue to oversee and approve all purchasing elements for related purchases for the County. 
• Expand the level of service provided to departments and vendors by assisting in contract oversight and enhanced support in obtaining quotations.
