On behalf of the Okeechobee County Board of County Commissioners, the County Administrator, and the firefighters of Okeechobee County Fire Rescue (OCFR), welcome to our website. We hope the information you find on this site is informative and helpful.

Okeechobee County Fire Rescue relies on a dedicated team of both full-time firefighters and volunteers to keep the community safe. Having three strategically placed stations staffed year-round ensures a prompt response to emergencies no matter where they occur in the county.

Okeechobee County Fire Rescue (OCFR) provides comprehensive emergency services to all of Okeechobee County. Our highly trained team of firefighters, all of whom are Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) or Paramedics, are equipped to handle a wide range of emergencies.

Here's what we offer:

  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) Emergency Medical Services (EMS): When every second counts, our paramedic-staffed ambulances and engines ensure you receive the highest level of pre-hospital care.
  • Fire Protection: Our firefighters are on call 24/7 to respond to fire emergencies, protecting your property and loved ones.
  • Fire Inspections: We proactively conduct fire inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards, preventing fires from starting.
  • Fire and EMS Public Education: Educating the community is a core value. We offer fire safety education programs and public awareness campaigns to keep you and your family safe.

OCFR operates four paramedic transport ambulances and four paramedic engines, ensuring we have the resources to respond swiftly and effectively to any emergency. Additionally, mutual aid agreements with neighboring counties solidify a robust regional network for comprehensive emergency response capabilities.
